NEW LINKS - On our Links page we have a belated connection to Riders for Health, the MotoGP backed charity which does outstanding work in Africa and elsewhere utilising motorcycles to bring medical provision to out of the ways places. A well proven, worthwhile organisation.
Also, Adventure Rider, which contains an excellent forum relating to sidecars (they use the over the pond term, Hacks). Informative, educational and just plain interesting. However, do allow time to browse through the many threads. Lots of other interesting bike stuff too.
FED RALLY 2008 - The Federation of Sidecar Clubs once again held its annual rally at the Luctonians Rugby Club in Herefordshire over the August holiday weekend. However, this year's was special because of the organisation celebrating its 50th anniversary. Attendance was good with over 200 units registered as camping, or day visitors. Units ranged from the single person to families of children, parents and numerous grandparents. The site was certainly well inhabited by a varied collection of outfits from near and far. Visitors from Japan, France, Germany, Ireland, Holland, and all corners of the British Isles made the event truly international. Sidecar types of all ages adding to a truly feel good factor.
Activities for all ages enhanced the event, whilst the constant hard work of the organisers provided everyone present with something to remember. It is hoped that a DVD will be produced as a record of the event, both for those who did attend, as well as anyone interested in this landmark rally.
FED FOUNDERS DAY - Check out the Events page for details of the Federation of Sidecar Clubs Founders Day meet at the Fox Inn, Burwell, Cambridge, CB25 0BA, on Saturday 18th October.
COMMEMORATIVE METAL PLAQUE - To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Federation of Sidecar Clubs a very limited edition A3 metal sign has been produced. It will be available at the Fox Inn Founders Day meeting on 18th October for a special price of £8.50. If there are any remaining after this event, then orders may be accepted.
WATSONIAN SIDECARS - The 75th anniversary of the Watsonian Sidecar company 'Watsonian Sidecars" is still available via the internet, and for FREE.
