"Every outfit is a unique vehicle, one of the charms I guess. Your particular recipe is for you to create and gain experience. The outcome may not suit others, or gain their support, however, you will have created your own particular steed. Whatever, as with all such vehicles, there will be joy, laughs, highs, and lows. It was ever so."

US YOUTH BIKES & LEAD - It would appear that the crazy situation that led to youth motorcycles sales being affected by a federal lead ban could be resolved. Significant campaigning and political manouvering has seen the responsible government agency declaring a reprieve whilst the legislative bill is analysed a little closer. Seemingly well meaning laws were basically flawed and now it is hoped that this will be corrected to everyone's satisfaction, not least of all so that young folk can continue to benefit from the pleasures offered by motorcycling activity. There may be lead in parts of youth motorcycles and quads, but surely it does not represent a threat to anyone.
DAVE BAKER'S DIESEL - We always knew that when Dave Baker's latest sidecar creation arrived it would be a well produced vehicle. However, what we saw over the Easter weekend turned out to be a wonderful piece of kit. Whilst car engined specials are not everybody's cup of tea, this is our idea of something approaching ideal. Yes, the engine isn't where some might prefer, being in the boot of the sidecar, and there might be numerous innovations that go against the grain for some traditionalists. For us it represents something to be admired, even to the point of being a little envious. Cost effective to build and with that turbo diesel engine no doubt good on the wallet when it comes to operating, but the real value is in the workmanship and skill that has created such a special outfit.
See it in our Gallery section. http://www.sidecar.freeuk.com/gallerybaker.htm
Don't forget Dave, we want first refusal.
SIDECAR VILLAGE AT UTTOXETER SHOW - An update from Show organiser, George Beer of the Vintage Japanese Motorcyle Club informs us that there are now 74 club displays and over 900 bikes & 3 wheelers provisionally booked to display. In only its third year, the event is believed to be the largest club event of its kind in Europe in 2009 and possibly the biggest display of classic bikes as well.
We now have more sidecar enthusiasts commited to participating and so help raise the profile of sidecarring at a major national event. It is to be hoped that those involved in the trade side of sidecarring in the UK will take up the opportunity to become involved.
